The Flight

To fly from Singapore to Berlin, the length of flight is about 13 hours. We took Qartar Airways, "the 5 stars airline". Heh. In case you have no idea which airline is that, check it out on CNA Primetime Morning.

Our flight took off at 7.05 am from Changi Airport T1 and the first leg of the flight, from Singapore to Doha, took approximately 6 hours. The 6 hours flight was really torturous. Firstly. this "5 stars airline" did not have individual inflight entertainment but a shared one which displayed shows we never seen before (and not interested in). So, we decided to catch some sleep on the plane. Just as we were trying very hard to sleep, there came the noise of 3 overly excited kids sitting right in front of us! Instead of hushing and pampering the kids to sleep, the parents fell asleep first. The mum spread herself comfortably across 4 seats and doze off while the kids surrounded the dad, playing with his eyes mask. So in the end, we only slept for 2 hours effectively.

Of course! How can I dont mention about the food? We were "well-fed" with 2 meals on each leg - one main course served at the beginning of the flight and 1 light meal served usually 1-2 hours prior to landing. Before serving the meal, the air stewardess provided each of us with a menu to inform us on the type of main course offered, typically about 3 kinds to choose from. Following which, they would provide us with hot towel to refresh ourselves and clean our hands. The meal served were pretty satisfying. Yummy!

Introduction

Heyhey everyone! Welcome to this new blog of mine!

This blog is specially set up to blog about our recent trip to Europe. *Ahem* and I was "very honourable indeed" to be saboh appointed as the offical blogger for the Europe trip. Instead of publishing the travel entries in my original blog Hush!, I have decided to publish them here.

This was the first time I have travelled with friends. It's not one friend but 6 of them. For the past 3 years together in uni, we have tried to initiate overseas holidays together but always in vain. Ha! We ended up going holidays individually or perhaps, the furthest we ever went was to cross the causeway to Johor Bahru. Finally this year, we managed to put words into action and voila! there came the idea of the vacation in Europe.

Before I start the blogging proper, here's a summary of our travel timeline:
  • 21st June : Juliana, Janice and Weilun flew to Oslo, Norway for their 3 weeks summer exchange programme.
  • 9th July : Lesley, Ling and Momo flew to Berlin, Germany.
  • 12th July : Kelvin flew to Berlin to meet up with Lesley, Ling and Momo.
  • 13th July : The 7 of us met up in Paris, France.
  • 13th to 16th July : Paris, France
  • 17th to 18th July : Venice, Italy
  • 18th to 22nd July : Rome, Italy
  • 22nd to 23rd July : Siena, Italy
  • 24th to 26th July : Prague, Czech Republic. Juliana, Janice, Weilun and Kelvin left Prague for Berlin while Lesley, Ling and Momo head further east to Vienna, Austria.
  • 27th to 29th July : Berlin, Germany (Juliana, Janice, Weilun and Kelvin's last stop)
  • 30th July : Home Sweet Home for the 4 of them.
  • 26th to 29th July : Vienna, Austria (Lesley, Ling and Momo)
  • 30th to 31st July : Munich, Germany
  • 2nd August : Home Sweet Home!
Confusing eh? Haha. Some people were amused how we managed to squeeze in so many cities in a period close to 4 weeks. Our original plan even included Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Geneva (Switzerland) ! Heh. Stay tuned!
